Hello, Mr. Crawford––I found this Substack through your article on Unherd and am 100% engaged. Your questions are very much on my mind, and I spend quite a bit of time trying to piece things together from my own readings. How you are writing and thinking seems well worth the time I plan to give to it. Thank you so much! Excited to embark on this real-time, work-in-progress with you, and everyone else reading & commenting here.
Also, really relished these brilliant comments from your covid-endgame piece:
"The idea that emotion should have any positive epistemic role to play in grasping reality is foreign to modern thought."
And this––wow––right on target:
What happens when the regime is one in which this spirited, evaluative activity is short-circuited altogether, subordinating the (various) distinctions that make for (competing visions of) the good life to mere biological life, bare existence? That is, “health” as conceived by “public health”? This is aggression against our nature as evaluative beings. It would seem to be the consummation of a project that puts the flight from death, rather than attraction to the good, at the center of our political metaphysics.
This is going to be good. It used to be that some books first appeared in a serialized form and were only later published between two covers. I suspect that will be the case here.
Re: The Archedelia Project....first installment comment on your "oeuvre"...yes I've fallen down the Rabbit hole and feel I've eaten a portion of Alice's cake and sipped at the 'Drink Me' vial....should fit in nicely with the absurd and disorienting experience I sense. Physics ? Where can I find Niels Bohr on Kindle ?
Found your Substack following your fascinating interview with Andrew Sullivan. I came out of that listening experience thinking how have I never heard of this Matthew Crawford?! As the parent of a trans-identifies teenage girl, I particularly appreciated your comments on gender ideology and hope you will write more on this topic, focusing on the experience of kids and teens in schools that promote such ideology and support social transition without seeking parental permission.
Super pleased to discover this substack. Your deeply thoughtful and carefully crafted books and articles continue to inspire and challange me. Crucial ideas in these discombobulating times.
Stoked to find a place where you're writing regularly. I've loved you books and wish I had found them earlier. I'm a Richmond guy who's goofed around in some of the same spots you wrote about, for many of the same mechanical and philosophical reasons (including Classified Moto). Wished I would have met you while you were still here and maybe spun a wrench together while talking the deeper things of life. Looking forward to following your Substack.
I am delighted to find this effort by Mr Crawford. He offers a refreshing blend of common sense with profound and exceedingly well informed analysis. I have enjoyed and been enlightened by his books and essays. I look forward to future pearls of wisdom.

Congratulations on the launch of the Archedelia Project. Your first post is already a gem.
